Once upon a time, there was a plugin… — WordCamp Rome 2017
Francesco Canovi and I gave this talk at WordCamp Rome 2017 in Rome, Italy, in Italian (original title: C’era una volta un plugin…).
This was the first time Francesco Canovi and I told this story on stage — in Italian, at WordCamp Rome. We took the same material to WordCamp Europe in Belgrade six months later.
Everyone has their own WordPress story. This one is about a plugin that is 100% made in Italy and, at the time, among the most popular in the repository — 900,000+ active installs and 5.7+ million downloads — and it is also, a little, the story of the two people who wrote it. From the beginning through to what we thought came next, by way of the butterfly effect.
